no project announcements before proper scrutiny

The Prime Minister will not announce any new projects for the various states without scrutinizing them first.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says every project has to be studied and approved by the relevant parties, to ensure it is carried out transparently and smoothly.

He also pointed out how many projects had been promised in the past - especially in the leadup to elections – but have yet to be implemented until now.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Anwar says the government will hold a meeting after the tabling of the revised budget next month, to discuss and examine projects under the Northern Corridor Economic Region.

The Prime Minister says many contributors have too little EPF savings…which can jeopardize their future if another round of withdrawals is allowed.

The Terengganu Menteri Besar has denied allegations of a cold war between state leaders and the Federal Government.

It follows the absence of several top state leaders during the Prime Minister’s visit to the state last week.

Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar says the state government has no problem working with Putrajaya…adding that their absence during the official visit had been due to a miscommunication.

The Local Government Development Ministry is asking the government for over 26 million ringgit in additional funding, to acquire critical assets to help with disaster management.

The allocation will also be used to strengthen the Volunteer Fire Brigade, to deliver firefighting services to the local community.
