The Works Ministry has identified over a thousand potential landslide areas nationwide.

However, it cannot take any pre-emptive measures, due to a lack of funds.

Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi adds that they’re facing similar problems with road maintenance as well.

This is why the ministry will be asking for a fair allocation, in the upcoming tabling of the revised Budget 2023.

Separately, the Works Minister says there is a possibility, that motorists will soon be able to choose between different cashless methods to pay for toll using RFID, instead of being limited to just one payment company.

The government is looking into the establishment of an independent body to address public complaints against government departments or agencies.

Minister in the PM’s Department for Law and Institutional Reform, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said says this is in line with the government’s push for transparency and integrity.

A team of HDB contractors from Singapore will be arriving here next month, to share their knowledge on building affordable public housing.

Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming says the matter is one of the main areas of focus…adding that the ministry is willing to learn from the best practices of other countries.

The Transport Ministry says seven traffic offences – including speeding and driving on the emergency lane – will be non-compoundable during the Chinese New Year travel period…with offenders to go straight to court.
