The flood situation in most of Johor continues to show signs of improvement, with the number of evacuees down to around 31 thousand.

Batu Pahat – which is the worst affected district – accounts for nearly all of the victims…with Segamat and Tangkak each reporting evacuees in the double digits.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defence Department has been instructed to deploy volunteers to help with flood relief operations, to replace those who’ve already been helping out in flood-hit states.

Most parents want the school session to revert to its January start date.

Nearly 90 percent of respondents to an Astro Radio News Twitter survey, said they prefer having the school term start at the beginning of the year, like it used to be before the pandemic.

This comes after the Education Ministry said there are no immediate plans to change the current March start-date, as reverting back to January will take too much time.

There will be a new Form Six syllabus in the next three years.

The Education Ministry says this is to keep pace with current developments, and to make sure it aligns with the equivalent A-Levels syllabus.

The ministry says it is currently in the midst of revising the syllabus, and should be done in time for Semester 1 of STPM in 2026.

Phase two of the Putrajaya MRT line will start operations at 3pm today.

Rapid Rail says the second phase will have new security and accessibility features, that were introduced based on the feedback of riders on the other lines.

The Prime Minister has also announced free rides on the Putrajaya line until March 31st.
