Relaxed Dress Code For Schools During Hot Weather

May 02, 2023

relaxed dress code for schools during hot weather

Schools can relax their dress code, amid the ongoing hot spell.

According to the Education Ministry, both students AND teachers can be allowed to wear t-shirts to class, to help them cope with the weather.

The ministry also says that students will NOT have to return to home-based teaching and learning, if their schools have to be closed due to extreme heat.

However, any closure must be replaced at a later date.

Under current guidelines. schools will be closed if the temperature exceeds 37 degrees Celsius for three straight days.

Also, the Johor health department is preparing a full report into a 12-year-old boy who is believed to have died from heat stroke.

The state government says an investigation is under way to confirm the actual cause of death.

The boy passed away yesterday at a hospital in Kluang.

According to his father, the victim had symptoms of heat stroke which affected his kidneys and caused inflammation of the brain.
