Data Law Needs To Be Amended

The country’s Personal Data Protection Act needs to be amended.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil says this is to prevent personal data from being stolen and used in fraud.
He adds that the amendments are expected to be carried out latest by March, next year…before being submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers.

The Health Ministry is targeting having a blood donation rate of 35 to 40 donors for every one thousand people…by the year 2030.
It says currently, the ratio is around 22 donors per thousand population.
The Ministry, however, says it is encouraging that more than 700 thousand bags of blood were donated nationwide last year, which is an over 13 percent increase from previous years.
Former Minister Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jafaar has confirmed the he will be sworn in as Dewan Negara president today.
He will take over from Tan Sri Rais Yatim, whose tenure ended last Thursday.
