East Coast Flooding Worsens

The number of flood evacuees in the east coast has surged to over 24,000.
Kelantan is the worst affected – with over 13,000 victims - while there are some 9.900 evacuees in neighbouring Terengganu.
Pahang, meanwhile, has just under seven hundred evacuees.
It came as Met Malaysia issued a warning for continuous heavy rain in several parts of Kelantan and Terengganu until today.
Authorities also say several main rivers in these two states have risen past the danger level.

The government is considering a new law to allow for action to be taken against Malaysians who illegally rent out their business licenses to foreign nationals.
This, amid complaints about foreigners operating businesses in the country, and benefiting from the government’s various subsidies.

The Shah Alam City Council has given approval for the demolition of Selangor’s iconic Shah Alam Stadium.
The Menteri Besar says the approval was granted last week, to pave the way for the reconstruction of the Shah Alam Sports Complex.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has clarified that a Facebook account under the name Haji Fadillah Yusof does not belong to him.
He made it clear this was a fake account created by irresponsible individuals, adding that a report has already been lodged over the matter.
