Face Masks Still Encouraged In Schools

The use of face masks in schools is encouraged to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The Deputy Education Minister says Covid SOP’s for schools and educational institutions, that were issued last April, are still applicable.
In addition to the recommended face masks for students and teachers, staff also have to do self-testing if they have symptoms.
This, as schools prepare to open for the new term amid a recent rise in Covid infections nationwide.

In a related development, the Health Ministry says 15 Covid cases were detected among flood evacuees in Kelantan… and five in Terengganu… from December 22nd until this past Saturday.
All were in stable condition, with most patients displaying mild or no symptoms.

Meanwhile, the flood situation in Kelantan is showing further signs of improvement.
As of this morning, there were only around 1,100 evacuees remaining at relief centers in the state.
Johor and Pahang, meanwhile, had about 80 victims combined.

And, the Yang DiPertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong have extended their New Year’s greetings to all Malaysians.
In a social media post, their Majesties also offered their prayers for the well being of the people, and the continued unity and harmony of the nation.
