PDPR for Penang Water Cut
Jan 05, 2024
PDPR, or home-based teaching and learning will be implemented in Penang during the 4-day water supply disruption that starts on January 10th.
The Penang government said this, after it received the green light from the Education Ministry.
However, students in Form 5 and pre-university colleges will still have to attend physical classes during this period, because of their exams.
For those in Form 5, they will have to sit for their SPM Bahasa Melayu oral test from January 8th to the 11th.
Also, the state government has warned that traders will face action if they hike up the price of water containers or mineral water during the disruption.
It pointed out authorities have been keeping tabs on supplies and prices, and will keep an eye out for any sudden increases.
The disruption is to facilitate urgent maintenance works at a water treatment plant, and other water works projects across the state.
