loke: more rapid kl buses this year

The Transport Ministry is stepping up its efforts to encourage the use of buses in major cities.  

Its minister Anthony Loke says this includes increasing the number of buses used by Rapid KL and adding more dedicated bus lanes.  

Authorities will also step-up enforcement against motorists who abuse such lanes.  

Also, Loke says his ministry will cover the cost to train 300 new bus drivers in Sarawak, to address a shortage in the state.

The PM says he's confident that Malaysia can report economic growth of 4% for the whole of last year.  

This, after the country reported GDP growth of 3.9% for the first three quarters of 2023.

South Korea's parliament has passed a bill that bans the selling and eating of dog meat.  

The consumption of dog meat has been practiced for centuries in the Korean Peninsula, but it is slowly dying out amid growing support for animal welfare.
