Prasarana is implementing an open payment system for public transport.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke says it will be available at 140 LRT, MRT and Monorail stations next year.

Loke adds that it will take some time to get the open payment system up and running, because it involves issuing tenders for the operation.

Police have completed 90 percent of their investigation into last month’s murder of six-year-old boy Zayn Rayyan.

The IGP says this covers forensics, pathology, witness statements, and combing through the scene of the crime.

However, he admits that the cops are struggling to determine the motive behind the murder.

The Communications Minister says the government may look into regulating podcast content, following the uproar over a controversial comment by a local actor in a recent podcast episode.

Fahmi Fadzil says there are no plans to monitor such content at the moment, but this is something authorities may consider in the future.

The number of flood evacuees in Johor has risen to over 8,100 this morning.

Around half of the victims are from Kota Tinggi – which is the worst affected district in the state.

Meanwhile, the Social Welfare Department’s portal says there are also around 1,500 evacuees in Pekan, Rompin and Maran in Pahang.

Three vehicles at the home of DAP’s Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham were damaged in a fire at his home early this morning.

The Perak police chief has been quoted by an online portal as saying that arson was suspected in the incident.
