RM50mil Allocated For Post-Flood Road Repairs

Some 50 million ringgit will be allocated to repair roads damaged by the recent flooding around the country.
The Works Ministry says this amount may even be increased, if any of the affected states need more funding for repairs.
This, as the Defense Ministry says an Armed Forces brigade has been deployed to Johor, to assist with post-flood recovery operations, including clean-up work.

Meanwhile, according to the Social Welfare Department’s portal, Johor currently has around 1,100 evacuees…while Pahang has slightly more than 700 victims.

There will be free rides on KTM Komuter trains on January 24th and 25th in conjunction with Thaipusam.
The Transport Ministry says the service will also operate 24 hours a day along certain routes…for the period between the 23rd and 26th.

Bukit Aman will be conducting a follow-up operation against foreigners at various hotspots around the capital…to nab those without valid documents and those involved in criminal activity.
The KL police chief says the raids will be similar to the one conducted at Jalan Silang last month.

The Health Ministry says there were just over 3,100 dengue cases reported nationwide during the first week of the new year…while there were over 130 hotspots detected around the country – mostly in Selangor.
