Cabinet To Discuss Abolishing Pensions

The proposal to abolish pensions for politicians will be discussed at the Cabinet level first.
The PM says only then will the matter be brought to Parliament for a final decision.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the issue needs to be tabled and thoroughly explained, as it is a matter of public interest.

The National Disaster Management Agency says Terengganu has fully recovered from recent flooding…with all evacuees allowed to return home.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry says the flooding caused nearly a million ringgit worth of damage to eight schools in the Dungun district.

Nearly six thousand people have been detained by the cops, in a three-day nationwide anti-drug operation.
More than 600 thousand ringgit worth of drugs, and nearly a million ringgit in assets were also seized during the special ops.

Separately, police have arrested a security guard at a primary school in Teluk Intan…for allegedly molesting a Year 1 student.
The cops were called in after receiving a report on the matter from one of the guard’s colleagues.

The three traffic policemen, who are suspected of soliciting a bribe from a foreign couple to settle a summons, have been released on police bail.
This, after the Ipoh magistrates court dismissed a request to extend the remand order for the suspects.
This, as the couple concerned confirmed that they’ve been communicating with the police over the matter, and have handed over footage of the incident.
