Terengganu police have dismissed claims on social media, that the PADU database was to blame, after several individuals in Dungun had money drained from their bank accounts.
Cops say instead, these people likely fell victim to scammers, who used phishing tactics to get their bank details.
--
Speaking of PADU, the Statistics Dept says the public's response to the database has become increasingly positive, thanks to its outreach programmes.
So far, more than 2.8 million Malaysians have already updated their info on the database, before the March 31st deadline.
--
On another note, the Statistics Dept says Malaysia's unemployment rate fell to 3.3% in December, with 567,800 jobless individuals.
