Heavy Vehicle Ban In Effect

Heavy vehicles are now temporarily barred from using all roads and major highways.
This is for the safety of road users, and to ensure a smooth flow of traffic over the Aidilfitri travel period.
The heavy vehicle ban is in place today and tomorrow…and also after Hari Raya, on the 13th and 14th.

Meanwhile, the JPJ is urging motorists to stick to the speed limit during the balik kampung exodus.
It says its recorded over 16 thousand speeding cases via the Automated Awareness Safety System cameras over the past week …some of which even involved drivers going over 170 kilometers an hour.

In a related development, the department has vowed to crack down on express bus drivers conducting LIVE streams on social media while behind the wheel.
It says its deployed undercover officers to catch the offenders, while passengers are also encouraged to lodge reports.
