sms scams on the rise (again)

SMS scams are on the rise again.  

Bukti Aman says there have been 18 cases so far this year involving losses of just under 230 thousand ringgit.  

Police add that scammers’ latest tactic involves sending victims fake text messages from telcos.  

As such, cops are urging the public to be on the lookout for any potential traps.

Police have beefed up security at KLIA 1 and 2. 

The Selangor police chief says double the number of policemen are now on duty, while the number of patrols have also been increased. 

This, following the recent shooting incident at KLIA 1 where a man fired two shots at his wife...missing her, but injuring her bodyguard.

Health professionals are warning of the rise in sugar-related diseases in Malaysia, amidst a growing obesity epidemic in the country.

A doctor in University Malaya told Malay Mail that the obesity rate in Malaysia is at over 50%, which ranks us among the highest in Asean countries.
