KL Must Replace Every Tree That's Felled

May 15, 2024

kl must replace every tree that's felled

The PM wants DBKL to replace every tree that has to be chopped down in the city.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he ordered the KL Mayor to plant 100 new trees for every tree that must be felled.

Recently, the Federal Territories Ministry said DBKL had identified 28 trees for removal, after they were determined to be at high risk of toppling.

This is in response to two recent cases of fallen trees in the KL City centre.

This includes the incident on Jalan Sultan Ismail last week that left 1 person dead, two others injured and temporarily disrupted monorail services.

PERKESO says its amnesty period for employers to register and make contributions for their staff will expire at the end of the month.

After that, the social security fund says it will kick off a nationwide operation to penalise those who fail to do so.

This includes employers of both local AND foreign domestic helpers.

The KL police chief says 3 foreigners who were allegedly linked to the Israeli national that was detained in KL recently have already been deported to the US, Georgia and Turkiye respectively.

The Israeli man was arrested over the alleged unlawful posession of firearms.

--

The motorcyclist who claimed that he was injured by some string that was stretched across the SUKE Highway recently has already lodged a police report.

He recently made a viral post on social media, showing a deep cut on his chin.
