New Plastic Disposal Law?

The government is looking into introducing a dedicated law to address plastic disposal and pollution.  

The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry says a more national approach is needed to deal with the issue.  

Minister Nik Nazmi explained that there are gaps in the current framework.  

For example, the framework relies on local governments to do their part, but not all states are moving at a fast pace.  

This, after a recent study found that Malaysia ranked the highest among 109 countries in consuming microplastics, and among the top 10 for inhaling the most microplastic particles.

Be careful and avoid downloading APK files you receive through messages, emails, or other similar channels.  

Police say they've already recorded losses exceeding 1.1 million ringgit due to smartphone hacking through APK files that steal data.  

Bukit Aman adds that it's already opened investigation papers into these cases that occurred from January to May this year.  

Cops also revealed that Selangor and Penang recorded the highest number of cases compared to other states.

More than 30 thousand Malaysians will receive the first Budi Madani cash assistance next Monday.  

Eligible recipients will receive the 200 ringgit through their bank accounts.  

Meanwhile, those without a bank account can claim the aid in cash by bringing their IC to any BSN branch throughout the Peninsular.

And the Election Commission has set July 6th for the Sungai Bakap by-election.  

It adds that nomination day will be held on June 22nd, while early voting will be on July 2nd.   

This, following the death of its assemblyman last month.
