This is after the HR Ministry said that a review of the current rate has already been completed, and will soon be presented to the National Wages Consultative Council.

A final decision will be made after getting feedback from employers and the council.

The last review, in 2022, raised the minimum wage from RM1,200 to RM1,500 a month.

Recently, Unicef proposed raising the minimum wage to RM2,100 a month, due to factors including the cost of living and the poverty line.
