govt gives assurance about egg supply

There is a sufficient supply of eggs nationwide.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry told the NST it engaged with industry players before reducing egg prices...and has been assured of sufficient production.

Earlier, several parties voiced their concern that the price drop could lead to a shortage of eggs in the market.

The Ministry says it'll investigate any shortages, adding that it could be linked to the long weekend following Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations.

It also sees us fall below Indonesia and Thailand in the rankings for the first time.

Meanwhile Singapore topped the standings for the first time since 2020...ahead of Switzerland and Denmark.

However, it adds that this can be a challenge... if these individuals do not want to be found.

The ministry said this after a 77-year-old mother in Johor asked for help in locating her son...who’s not been heard from in 36 years since graduating in the US.
