Rogue Bersatu Reps Fate Still Undecided

Jun 24, 2024

rogue bersatu reps fate still undecided

It could take some time to learn the fate of the 6 rogue Bersatu MPs who declared their support for the PM.

The Dewan Rakyat Speaker says he has already received an official notice from the party, calling for their seats to be declared vacant.

Tan Sri Johari Abdul says under the law, he has 21 days to study the request before making an announcement.

Last week, the Kelantan state assembly declared that the Nenggiri seat fell vacant over the issue.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry said that the recent diesel subsidy rationalisation did not have any major impact on the price of goods.

It adds that SOME traders were taking advantage of the situation early on, but prompt action was taken against them.

Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry says the transition to targeted diesel subsidies will help the country save some RM4 billion a year.

However the government will still fork out RM10 billion annually to subsidise diesel.

The Home Ministry has confirmed the arrests of 8 suspects over the weekend, who were allegedly linked with religious extremist groups.

The suspects, who were detained in Johor, Kelantan, Perak, and Selangor, are accused of plotting against the Yang Dipertuan Agong, the PM and senior police officers.
