Police believe the 13-year-old came across the snacks while walking past a banana farm, on his way to a river to catch fish.
This is the second such incident in recent weeks, after two toddlers in Kedah died shortly after they accidentally consumed poison-laced snacks that had been left out to trap monkeys.
