Almost A Quarter Of A Million Accidents Already!

There was a sharp spike in both daily road accidents and fatalities yesterday.
According to data from Bukit Aman traffic police, 1,915 crashes happened yesterday, which is up by 33% percent compared to Sunday.
23 people were killed in fatal accidents... an increase of more than 60%.
This means that so far this month, around 48 thousand accidents have been reported nationwide, with nearly 400 deaths.
Meanwhile, there have been close to a quarter of a million accidents since PDRM started publishing daily statistics back in mid-March.

The licensing rule for social media providers is NOT meant to stifle people's freedom of speech.
PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has again assured that it's only meant to combat the spread of misinformation and online crimes including scams and cyberbullying.
Recently, the the government said that social media and messaging platforms with at least eight million registered Malaysian will need to apply for a license.
However, some quarters voiced concerns that it could be used to silence the government's critics.

Separately, the PM has announced an additional allocation of RM100 million to beef up security along our border with Thailand.
The additional allocation will be used to upgrade security facilities in border areas in Kedah, Perlis and Kelantan.

Residents living around the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang will not have their quality of life affected, once 6 airlines resume narrow body jet operations there from August 1st.
The Transport Ministry says it's because flights to and from the airport will be limited to between 6am and 10pm daily.
