Aug 02, 2024

teoh beng hock investigation to be re-opened

The government has agreed to re-open the investigation into the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock in 2009.

The Prime Minister assured, that the new investigation would be conducted transparently and fairly, without interference.

Teoh died after being detained by the MACC for questioning 15 years ago, with a Royal Commission of Inquiry initially ruling his death a suicide.

However, the Court of Appeal in 2014 found that Teoh’s death had been caused by unlawful acts by unknown persons.

This prompted his family to push for the case to be investigated for murder.
