Johor Child Kidnap Suspect Re-Arrested
Aug 04, 2024
Police have re-arrested a suspect, who was accused of kidnapping a 6-year-old girl in Johor last month.
According to the Johor police chief, this is after investigators allegedly found child sexual abuse material and adult toys at his home in Kulai.
The girl went missing while attending an event at a mall in Iskandar Puteri on July 20th.
She was found at a budget hotel in Batang Kali, Selangor three days later.

People have been reminded to contact the police or Talian Kasih hotline, if they witness cases of child abuse or neglect.
The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says this is preferable, compared to recording videos and viralling them on social media.

According to the Communications Ministry, social media providers and instant messaging platforms have agreed in principle to the new licensing requirement.
Under the rule, such services with at least 8 million Malaysian users must register by next year, to help clamp down on cybercrimes and the spread of misinformation.
