Surveillance at Malaysia's entry points will be increased following the WHO's declaration that Mpox is now an international public health emergency.

The Health Ministry says all travelers with reported cases will need to monitor their symptoms for at least 21 days before their arrival in Malaysia.

The ministry also reminded that guidelines on mpox management are available on its website.

Police have classified the death of a 10-year-old Orang Asli girl in Sungai Siput as murder.

They are also not ruling out the possibility of rape, based on initial investigations.

The case had initially been classified as sudden death after the child's body was found in a swampy area.

Meanwhile, authorities have arrested a male teenager in connection with the case, and recorded statements from several villagers.

The government is setting up a special task force to discuss social media regulation and enforcement.

This is to ensure more effective investigation and prosecution including for relatively new offences like the use of deepfakes.

In Johor, police have clarified that the case of a passenger jumping out of a car was notan abduction attempt.

They explained that the incident was due to a misunderstanding when the driver had to divert from the original route due to a road closure.

And, Bukit Aman has summoned former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to record his statement tomorrow, over complaints that he touched on 3R sensitivities in a recent speech.
