KKM: No Mpox Vaccine Plans Yet

So far Malaysia has no plans to introduce a vaccination programme for mpox.
The Health Ministry says the matter has not been discussed yet, and in-depth studies need to be conducted if the need arises.
It adds that so far, there have been no new cases of mpox in Malaysia.
Recently, the WHO declared a global health emergency over an outbreak in parts of Africa.
Meanwhile the Philippines has detected its first case of mpox since December, in a man who did NOT have a history of travelling overseas.

The Education Ministry has promised to give continued psychosocial support to the children of murdered teacher Istiqomah Ahmad Rozi.
She was killed late last year, and the main suspect was charged with murder yesterday.

2 young boys have been rescued, after they were trapped for around 10 hours inside a faulty apartment elevator in Cheras, KL.
According to the mother of one of the boys, they tried to call for help using the elevator’s intercom, but there was no response.
