more than 8k flood evacuees in kedah

The PM has announced a federal government allocation of 13 million ringgit for post-flood assistance in Kedah.

The funding will be used for aid, cleanup efforts, and to repair damaged infrastructure.

This, as the number of flood evacuees in the state currently stands at around 8,500 in Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Pendang, Kubang Pasu and Bandar Baharu.

In a related development, Kedah police are warning people not to go to flood-affected areas in the state, simply to shoot content for social media.

It warned that action will be taken against the offenders, urging the public to show sympathy for the victims, instead of taking advantage of them for views and ratings.

PTPTN will be taking legal action against over 400 thousand borrowers who’ve failed to repay their loans, totaling around 6 billion ringgit.

The Higher Education Ministry says some of these borrowers have not made a single repayment, despite having good jobs.

Some 19 kids have been rescued during a series of raids on GISB premises in Melaka…while 11 individuals were also arrested for following deviant teachings and possessing prohibited materials.

And, the Health Ministry has stepped up screenings at all border entry points, following the detection of an Mpox case in the country last week.
