MetMalaysia Refining Alert SOPs
Sep 26, 2024
MetMalaysia is strengthening its SOPs over the issuing of its weather alerts.
It says it will make more frequent announcements through all media channels, including TV and Radio and social media platforms, as well as its own web portal and MyCuaca app.
The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry had asked MetMalaysia to strengthen the SOPs, so that people are more aware about current weather conditions and help them avoid unwanted incidents.
This, as Malaysia enters the inter-monsoon period, which increases the likelihood of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds especially in the evenings.
