Oct 11, 2024

gisb: no rci plans yet

The government has no immediate plans to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry into GISB.

The Law and Institutional Reform Minister says it will depend on the outcome of parliamentary debates on the issue.

This, as the Home, Religious Affairs and Women, Family Community Development Ministries are due to present separate papers to the Dewan Rakyat, when it reconvenes next week.

This, after hundreds of children were rescued from alleged abuse and exploitation at multiple GISB-linked care homes.

The police investigation into the controversial entity is ongoing.

Ampang Jaya police have confirmed that they recently arrested the mother of two boys, who were allegedly locked up inside a house without adult supervision for two days.

Cops also said that medical checks on the boys, aged one and six years old, found both old and new wounds on their bodies.

--

Separately, cops are hunting down a suspect after a viral video accused him of physically and sexually abusing three children in Klang.

This, after a report was lodged by an individual who had rescued the kids.
