Klang Valley Flash Flood Aftermath

Oct 15, 2024

klang valley flash flood aftermath

LRT services along the Kelana Jaya Line's Wangsa Maju and Sri Rampai stations have resumed following this morning's disruption.

This, after authorities repaired track components that were damaged by heavy rainfall.

The weather condition also triggered flash floods in several areas of the Klang Valley

It also caused a landslide in Taman Melawati, that forced some 300 nearby residents to evacuate.

No casualties were recorded, and authorities have since begun to clear up the affected area.

Meanwhile, the Works Ministry says the landslide was likely triggered by a blocked drain.

Also, the Smart Tunnel is now fully reopened to traffic, after it was closed this morning.

This, as MetMalaysia says the Klang Valley will likely be spared of more rain tonight.

Howeer, a heavy rain and thunderstorm alert is in effect until 9PM for the whole of Penang, and parts of Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak.
