Easier My50 Pass Renewals

Oct 24, 2024

easier my50 pass renewals

Public transport users will soon be able to renew their My50 travel passes electronically.

This, as the system is being integrated into the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet, and it should be available within the next few months.

Currently, users can only renew the passes at LRT station counters.

The Transport Ministry says it hopes that this will further boost the number of My50 pass users, and promote the wider usage of public transport.

Malaysia’s push for public transportation will NOT be affected by the decision to maintain petrol subsidies for the majority of Malaysians.

The Transport Ministry says the subsidy is still needed, because not all areas in Malaysia have easy access to public transportation networks.

During his Budget 2025 presentation, the PM announced that the government plans to implement targeted subsidies for RON95 petrol from mid-next year.

The rationalisation only impacts non-citizens and the wealthy, but 85% of Malaysians will be unaffected.

A 13-year-old girl has been injured after a man allegeldy drove into a school compound in Manjung, Perak and ran her over.

Cops say he was detained after fleeing the scene, and was referred to a hospital after showing signs of mental problems.
