MOE Cracking Down On Student Vaping

Nov 17, 2024

moe cracking down on student vaping

The Education Ministry is cracking down on the widespread use of vape and e-cigarette among school students.

This includes sending officers out to visit and monitor schools...in addition to working closely with Parent-Teacher Associations and community groups.

The ministry adds that this has become a key focus area…alongside issues like bullying and truancy.

-

Separately, the ministry says it has prepared a disaster management guide for educational institutions to follow during the Northeast Monsoon.

This includes converting some schools to flood relief centres and conducting home-based learning for the affected schools.

-

A trial run for the revamped National Service Training Program will be implemented in January.

The Defense Ministry says it will involve some 200 male volunteers in KL to help prepare the modules and syllabus ahead of the actual implementation in June next year.

-

The Council of Datuks is calling for stricter action against those caught using fake and unrecognized state awards, emblems and honorifics...after receiving over 200 complaints about these offences over the past two years.

-

The Home Ministry says those who’ll be placed under the proposed house arrest, will be required to wear location-tracking devices.

-

And, Police have questioned 19 individuals as part of the investigation into the drowning of three JKR personnel during a rafting accident in Gopeng last week.
