DBKL Billboards To Display Flood Warnings
Nov 21, 2024
Electronic billboards under KL City Hall will display live weather reports and flood warnings starting tomorrow.
The Federal Territories Minister says it’s to ensure that the public can prepare and take early action in the event of flash floods.
She says her ministry is working with the Irrigation and Drainage Department, as well as Met Malaysia on this initiative.

Separately, the minister says the sinkhole in KL’s Jalan Masjid India was not caused by flash floods.
She adds that it was just a coincidence that there were several other incidents due to heavy rain.
The ministry also assured that DBKL has been conducting a soil structure study in the area, as well as mapping and underground integrity testing since the incident.
In August, a female tourist from India disappeared after the ground underneath her caved in, creating an eight-meter-deep sinkhole. `

For the LRT Kelana Jaya and MRT Putrajaya lines, train frequency will be increased to every 3 minutes and 5 minutes, respectively, from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday
