The Malaysian Employers Federation is against the proposed hike in insurance premiums next year.
It says it will be an additional burden on companies, especially small and micro enterprises who already operate on tight budgets.
The federation also warned that it may lead to higher prices, as these companies will have no choice but to pass on the additional cost to consumers.
The MEF also warned that the premium hike may prompt employers to reduce health benefits and medical coverage for their staff.
