Telegram Gets Operating License

Telegram has been granted a license to operate in Malaysia.
This makes it the third provider after TikTok and WeChat to be licensed, under the country’s new requirement for messaging and social media providers.
Meanwhile, Meta’s application is pending the submission of several documents...while there is currently a disagreement with Google over the classification of Youtube as a social media platform.
The Communications Ministry says the MCMC also needs time to sort out issues with X…after the platform said that its number of users in Malaysia had not reached the eight million thresholds.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will address any corruption-related complaints within 24 hours.
The move is part of the commission's newly enhanced Customer Charter.
Other improvements include a 14-day deadline for officials to update the Corruption Offenders Database with information on convicted offenders after their court sentencing.
The commission will also focus on enhancing its officers' skills, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence to help them adapt to evolving trends.

The Private Hospitals Association says the findings on its study into medical cost inflation will be presented to the Health Ministry next month.
It adds that the study was aimed at identifying the key factors behind such inflation.
The association also urged its member hospitals to implement more transparent policies on drug prices.
