The number of flood evacuees in Johor has surged overnight to over 3,400.

The districts affected are Kota Tinggi, Kluang, JB, Kulai and Pontian.

Meanwhile, there are currently also around 30 evacuees seeking shelter at flood relief centers in Perak.

Malaysia has reported its first Mpox case of 2025.

According to the Health Ministry, the latest case involves a 24-year-old Malaysian national, who had travelled overseas in recent weeks.

This brings the total number of Mpox cases in the country to 12.

The government will not tolerate any unjustified increase in health insurance premiums.

The PM says any hike has to be backed by valid reasons, failing which the government will not support or allow it.

This, as Bank Negara continues to work on a report regarding the increase in premiums, having held discussions with insurance and takaful operators as well as other stakeholders.

The government will soon hold cyber security campaigns in all primary and secondary schools nationwide.

The Communications Ministry says this is to raise understanding and awareness among students, teachers and parents to help them avoid falling victim to scams and online crime.

And, the Malaysian Consulate in Los Angeles says no Malaysian citizens have been affected so far by the deadly LA wildfires.
