Home Minister Calls for Calm After Setia Alam Shooting

The Home Minister has called for calm following the recent shooting at a Setia Alam shopping mall.
Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says he has faith that the police can quickly bring the suspect to justice, as they were able to identify him quickly.
A manhunt is currently underway for the suspect, who shot and injured a cleaner at the mall.
Meanwhile, Kelantan police have stepped up security along the border with Thailand to ensure that he doesn't flee the country.

The government is considering a new national policy and legislative framework to deal with the issue of plastic waste pollution.
The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry says a comprehensive policy is needed because currently, the issue of plastic pollution rests with state governments and their respective local authorities.
This, after recent reports listed Malaysia as one of five biggest plastic polluters in the world.

The Batu Caves temple says 3 thousand volunteers, including medical teams, will be on duty tomorrow for Thaipusam celebrations there.
