RM44mil Spent On Ministers' Overseas Trips

The government spent 44 million ringgit on overseas trips for cabinet ministers last year.
The PM’s Department says there were a total of 236 official visits abroad, with the Foreign Minister making the most trips, followed by the Prime Minister.
It explained that most of these trips are due to the fact that Malaysia is a member of various international organizations, including the UN, ASEAN, and World Economic Forum.

Malaysia’s Consumer Confidence Index rose by 4% last month compared to the same period last year.
According to a new Ipsos report, Malaysia outperformed several regional counterparts, including Japan and South Korea, and even exceeded the global average.
The report noted that confidence has grown across key indicators such as job security, future investment, and purchasing power, signaling stronger sentiment among Malaysian consumers regarding economic conditions.

The Digital Ministry is stepping up efforts to address the sale of personal data on the dark web.
It'll be launching a new intelligence system in the second quarter of the year to monitor such sales.
The ministry adds that the system – which is the first of its kind in the country - was developed following rising concerns over personal data transactions online.

Police are investigating a stone engraving featuring the face of former Chinese Communist Party leader Mao Zedong, that was displayed at a memorial site in Semenyih.
The engraving also displayed a poem promoting communist ideology.
So far, cops have recorded statements from three witnesses after a woman lodged a police report over the matter earlier.
