KPDN To Intervene Over Cooking Oil Issue
Mar 07, 2025

The government has vowed to intervene to ensure a stable supply of bottled cooking oil.
The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry says this includes offering special incentives to manufacturers, to encourage them to continue supplying their products to the market.
It will also step up enforcement efforts, to make sure there is no hoarding or leakages involving all types of cooking oil.
It explained that the issue was caused by the recent surge in crude palm oil prices, which have forced makes of bottled cooking oil to reduce production as a cost-cutting measure.
