Tougher Regulations Against Heavy Vehicles

The Transport Ministry is stepping up efforts to enforce stricter regulations for heavy vehicles.
According to Berita Harian, authorities will be strictly enforcing a ban on lorries and buses using the right lane on highways.
This means they must remain in the leftmost lane, except when overtaking.
Other improvements include the mandatory installation of speed limiters and GPS devices as well as installing more weight sensors and AES cameras along highways.

In a related development, express bus companies have been warned of strict action, including license suspension, if they arbitrarily increase ticket prices ahead of the Aidilfitri festive season.

The Prime Minister has condemned the Israeli air strike that killed aid workers from the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations, who were on a humanitarian mission in Gaza.
The victims are said to have been killed while setting up tents to shelter displaced families affected by the ongoing conflict in the region.

The Home Minister has rubbished claims on social media that controversial preacher Dr Zakir Naik has been granted Malaysian citizenship.
He told FMT the claim is fake news from six years ago…adding that the preacher remains a permanent resident, who has no intention of becoming a Malaysian citizen.

Malaysia Airlines has revealed that MH720's emergency landing at KLIA last night was due to a cargo fire alert.
