MOE Ready For Home-Based Learning

The Education Ministry is ready to roll out home-based teaching and learning, during the ASEAN summits in May and October.
Minister Fadhlina Sidek says the matter has already been discussed internally, and they are in the process of identifying the schools involved.
This, following a proposal for classes to be conducted remotely when the ASEAN meetings are held, in order to minimize the effects of traffic congestion.
It comes in the wake of public complaints about road closures and heavy traffic around the Klang Valley, during the Chinese President’s recent visit to KL.

The Communications Ministry is calling for stern action over yet another incident of an incomplete Jalur Gemilang being displayed.
The latest case saw one of the exhibitors at a baby expo in KL playing a video with the wrong Malaysian flag.
The Ministry says at least five police reports have been lodged so far.
This is the third such incident in the span of a week…after two local dailies earlier got into trouble for displaying images of an incomplete Jalur Gemilang.

The Selangor government is taking steps to improve its disaster response, in the wake of the recent Putra Heights pipeline fire.
As such, members of the state’s disaster management unit will be sent for training overseas later this year to equip them with up-to-date expertise on how to handle such incidents in the future.
