Drop In Sexual Harassment Cases On KTMB Trains

KTMB has reported a drop in sexual harassment cases among its passengers.  

This, as the rail operator said that only three such cases were reported last year. 

It said this was due to continuous surveillance by its officers and auxiliary police. 

It has also installed CCTV cameras on its trains and set up a dedicated hotline to report such incidents.  

KTMB adds it is also working with the authorities, to draw up suitable penalties for men who enter women-only coaches.  

This, as the rail operator marked the 15th anniversary of its women-only coaches.

The National Registration Dept have denied viral reports of NRD or Home Ministry staff conducting house calls to inspect people's identity cards.  

The dept says the rumours were reposted from an earlier viral message that has already been debunked.

The consumer rights group FOMCA has urged state governments to proceed with plans to ban the sale of vapes and e-cigarettes.   

This, after vape traders in Terengganu called for a delay in the implementation of its state-wide ban, to give them more time to sell off existing stocks and transition to new businesses.
