Lower Speed Limit For School Zones

The government will soon gazette a reduction in the speed limit in school zones from 50 to 30 km/h.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke says move is backed by scientific data showing that going slower significantly lowers the risk of fatalities in accidents.

On average, there are 70 fatal accidents in school zones each year.

The minister also urged authorities to improve road infrastructure like signages and yellow lines to alert road users and encourage them to slow down in these areas.

The Sepang International Circuit will be the first venue to enforce the Youth and Sports Ministry’s new SOPs for concerts.

The circuit will also implement several additional guidelines, including having health and safety messages delivered to concertgoers every hour.

The ministry says this will help ensure concerts are safe, and free of drug abuse.

The government has identified the officers responsible for the incorrect depiction of the national flag in the recent SPM Results Analysis Report.  

The Chief Secretary to the Government assured that an investigation is underway and that disciplinary action will be taken.  

This, after the mistakes were spotted in several AI-generated images in the report, which the Education Ministry has since apologized for.
