Health DG: 8,000 Covid-19 patients have recovered so far

8,000 Covid-19 patients have recovered so far in Malaysia since the outbreak began in January.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says this means that we’ve achieved a 93.8% recovery rate out of the total 8,529 infections recorded in the country.

Yesterday, the Ministry discharged another 127 patients and saw an additional 14 new cases.

Over 13,000 Detainees, Staff At Detention Depots Undergone Covid-19 Tests

More than 13 thousand detainees and staff at immigration detention centres nationwide have been tested for Covid-19, with 782 testing positive.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says two staff at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot are among the latest 11 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases detected yesterday.

In all, the ministry reported 14 new cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 8,529, with just 408 active cases.

2 Indonesians on the run in Kuching after testing positive for Covid-19

Two Indonesian workers in Sarawak have gone on the run after discovering they had tested positive for Covid-19.

State officials say both of them had undergone mandatory Covid-19 screenings as part of their work permit applications.

Earlier this month, a new cluster involving foreign workers was identified in the state after an Indonesian tested positive for the coronavirus.
