MCO has made Malaysians more disciplined

Jun 25, 2020

It has been 100 days, since Malaysians started living under the Movement Control Order implemented back in March 18th to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.

Consultant Histopathologist and Statistician at UM Dr Manimalar Selvi Naicker informs us that the Covid-19 issue had actually taught Malaysians to be more disciplined.

"Based on what has been reported in the media, I think that generally there was very good compliance once the public understood what the issues were and what the dangers were."

She says previously Malaysians were not diligent about washing their hands, but it has now become an automatic habit.

3 new clusters identified

The Health Ministry has identified 3 new Covid-19 clusters in the country.

Its Director General says the 3 new clusters are located in Hulu Langat and Bukit Bintang in the Klang Valley and the other in Kuching, Sarawak.

However, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says there is no need to place these 3 areas under an enhanced movement control order or semi-EMCO for now.

Only students with low body immunity must wear face masks to schools

The Education Ministry says only students with low body immunity must wear face masks to schools.

Face masks are required to be worn throughout the day for students suffering from illnesses like chronic lung disease, asthma, and diabetes.

The Ministry says schools will only provide face masks for students who are found to have symptoms while in school and encouraged students to bring along their own hand sanitisers.
