Talian Kasih saw a record number of calls during the Covid-19 pandemic

Jun 26, 2020

Talian Kasih saw a record number of calls during the Covid-19 pandemic, receiving 3,308 calls on April 16 alone, its highest daily record.

Most of the calls in April were those asking about food basket and  panic-related calls because Covid-19 was something new.

But, the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says its helpline saw a decline in calls last month, when the government announced various Covid-19 aid packages.

It adds that the hotline would usually receive 150 calls on average per day, before the Movement Control Order was implemented.

Over 4,000 jobs will be made available for PTPTN borrowers via an online job hunt organised by the agency.

PTPTN says the salaries are also lucrative, ranging from RM1,200 for cashiers and RM6,000 for software development engineers.

The job hunt, which will run from next Tuesday until Friday, is meant to help borrowers, especially graduates, find job opportunities.
