Malaysia records single digit daily infections for fourth day

Malaysia continues to make good progress in the fight against COVID-19. 

Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the number of new cases has hit single digits for a fourth straight day, while we’ve gone nearly two weeks without any fatalities.
 
Today, the ministry reported six new cases, while the death toll is unchanged at 121. 
 
Meanwhile the number of active cases is down to 191. This is the first time that it’s fallen to below 200 since the start of the MCO period.

More tourism sub-sectors to reopen next month

Several more tourism sub sectors can reopen starting July 1st, under the Recovery MCO.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the other subsectors are MICE, or Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions, Travel and trade fairs, and reflexology and wellness centres, as well as spas.

He adds that private tuition centres can also reopen, but the date will be confirmed later.

PM: COVID-19 vaccine must be affordable and accessible 

The Prime Minister says ASEAN nations must ensure that any COVID-19 vaccines are affordable and accessible.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this during the virtual 36th ASEAN Summit, earlier today.

Among other topics discussed, Tan Sri Muhyiddin has also called for other governments to implement measures for travel bubbles between low risk coronavirus nations.
