Talks underway for 'travel bubble' with Australia

Jul 04, 2020

The government has started talks with Australia to set up a 'travel bubble' which will allow travel between both countries.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah however, says the move will depend on both nations agreeing to mutual SOP's and regulations.

Similar talks over a travel bubble have already started with Singapore and Brunei.

No parliament screening

Those attending the upcoming session of Parliament will not be screened for Covid-19.

The Health Ministry says swab tests will only be conducted for those with symptoms.

The rest will be subject to the usual SOP's like temperature checks, as well as the use of face masks and hand sanitizers.

Spend a day at the movies

Go catch a movie to help the local film and entertainment industry.

The Communications and Multimedia Ministry is encouraging Malaysians to visit cinemas, now that they're allowed to operate again.

It adds that moviegoers need not worry, as there are SOP's to keep people safe amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Ministry says its been monitoring cinemas since they reopened on July 1st, and is happy with their level of compliance to health and safety regulations.

Cases spike in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu has become the second Indian state after Maharashtra to record more than 100 thousand Covid-19 infections.

The high figure, however, comes after the state drastically increased its coronavirus testing, with more than 1.2 million people tested so far - which is the highest in India in absolute terms.

This came as the number of global coronavirus cases topped the 11 million mark.

The US alone accounts for nearly three million infections.
