More CCTV cameras for KL soon

Jul 19, 2020

Up to 5,000 CCTV cameras will be installed at strategic locations around KL.

It is to make the federal capital a safer and more conducive place for residents and visitors.

The Federal Territories Ministry has already asked KL City Hall to collaborate with the private sector, including developers, over the installation of the cameras.

The Ministry will also hold discussions with KL police on joint measures to ensure the level of security in the capital remains high.

More Covid-19 clusters have ended

Two Covid-19 clusters - one involving senior citizens in Kuala Selangor and the other in Labu Lanjut in Sepang - have officially been declared over after 28 days of surveillance and monitoring were completed.

This, as nine new infections were reported nationwide yesterday - four of which were imported cases - with the remaining infections reported in Sarawak.

The Health Minitry also confirmed that a further five patients have been discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to more than 8,500.

Selangor is the worst-effected, with 244 people currently seeking shelter at seven relief centers.
