PM: Enjoy the long weekend, but don't ignore SOP's

Jul 31, 2020

The Prime Minister is urging Malaysians to follow the set SOP's over the long weekend, including avoiding large gatherings.

In his Hari Raya Haji address, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin reminded that while Muslims can celebrate the occasion, they need to be mindful that Covid-19 is still a threat.

The Health Ministry has also echoed the PM's message, urging Malaysians not to forget to practice social distancing, to wear a mask in public and practice good hand hygiene.

Report those who breach home quarantine

Members of the public are urged to lodge reports if they spot anyone with pink quarantine wristbands out and about in public areas.

Defense Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the government is very serious about cracking down on these individuals, who are breaking home-quarantine SOP's.

It comes after recent incidents, where individuals with the pink wristbands were spotted out in public, when they should have been isolating themselves at home.

Meanwhile, Selangor police are tracking down 88 individuals who failed to undergo their second Covid-19 screening after being placed under home quarantine.

The cops are warning these people to get the screening done as soon as possible, warning that offenders face stern action.
